You can't hide from the interweb...
The owner of EnvisionAuto in Calgary, let someone test drive his skyrine, the person decided not to return and stole the car. After filing a police report, he decided to also post about the stolen car on beyond.ca car forum.

Let the wild tale begin!

  • New member regretfully posts that his car has been stolen by someone with a fake ID that took a permanent test drive.
    Describes vehicle and thief.


  • The thief was spotted by a forum member at Chinook mall, member recognizes stolen vehicle as described in this post.
    Snaps pictures, posts on beyond. Even in a city of 1 million people, thief is spotted within hours due to internet exposure.

Claw


  • Thief is found on facebook using said pictures, recognized by multiple members

  • Full name, address, and workplace is found via facebook

  • Multiple forum members drive to known address at 2:30am, car is parked outside.
    Dude peeks out the window, sees posse, gets scared.

  • Car disappears at some point.

  • Another member drives by later, finds car. Boxes car in, calls cops, calls rightful owner

  • People notice he has a claw hand... Hilarity ensues

  • Cops show up 2 hours later, pictures and youtube video posted of stolen car, and Dr. Claw the failed car thief getting arrested

  • Car is now safe at home, back up for sale, with a new test drive policy. Bonus: Thief leaves $22 in change, and a shitty wanksta hat. Link is passed around to virtually every forum worldwide within hours, checking in to show community support. Appears on front page of digg.com.

  • News story to be featured on local news tonight (CTV?)

World-renowned tuner and hot rod king Boyd Coddington died at 6:20 am this morning. The cause of death is still unknown. Coddington, founder of Boyds Wheels and designer of prize-winning custom cars, had recently been hospitalized twice for an undisclosed medical condition. Although he was though to be in recovery, rumors of his untimely death began circulating today throughout the forums. A spokesperson for Boyd Coddington's corporation has confirmed that those rumors are true. The company will be releasing a statement later today.

The owners and staff at Macgyvers Rod and Custom would like to send their condolences to the friends, family and staff at Boyd Coddington's Shop.

We are truly sorry for your loss.
